ultra plus 2x12 combo....

been running it as a power amp hooked up to a 4x12 ever since I got it. today I hooked the stock speakers backup-and holy shit those sheffield's sound like dog shit. Could probably use some new tubes but damn. Sounds like a fart box. A dark and dead fart box. Very tempted to turn it into a head. Not using it hardly. What would you guys do?

ha, i remember fucking hating those sheffield 4x12s back in the day, they were like the broke hardcore kids 4x12 you could get for $150 in literally every music store in america back then. they at least looked cool with that metal grill. i have seen a few people lately though who actually dig them, i wonder if i played one all these years later id still hate them?? im guessing yes

I was using it to power a Marshall mode 4 with those higher power v30’s. Hooked my rack unit into it and boom….instant shit box. New meaning to brown sound.

Yeah, replace the speaker or turn into a head. I had a Peavy Valveking once with the 'custom' Valveking speaker. Same problem.

I've got a Peavey 412MS cab with Eminence Man-O-Wars and Governors in an X pattern taken out of a Splawn cab that I replaced with some Celestion GB's. The Sheffield's are sitting in boxes.

I bought a quad of manowars off someone here years ago for a cab I was going to build. One got destroyed and a gave the other three to a buddy for an ar receiver….if I find a good deal on some speakers I will swap them out…or trade it…hell I don’t know…
