When I first saw this guitar on the computer screen, I went meh.

I kept coming back to it and finally arranged a meeting with the seller in Elkhart Indiana yesterday.

It’s a 1979 Gibson Les Paul standard.

Routed for a 3rd pickup.

It also had a factory Kahler which has been filled in.

It used to be a tobacco burst, has since been converted to a Goldtop.

Original frets. Original wood. Original truss rod cover….thats about it.

The wiring was a rats nest. So I completely re wired it. It came with 2 Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates. I put a dummy pickup in the middle(not hooked up)

The neck is a slim 60s carve. It weighs 10.5 pounds. There are no breaks.

The tone and playability are awesome!!! Warm fat tone!!! I wish the neck was a little thicker.

Man you have had a bunch of sick guitars over the last year or two. Like a lot... It's awesome.

I hooked up the middle pickup yesterday using the bridge volume push/pull pot for an on/off for the middle pickup.

I had forgotten the tonal opportunities of a 3 pickup Les Paul.

I love this guitar, but I'd probably have the third pickup removed

It'd be worth it - norlins are super underrated and are awesome players

Someday I'll find the guy with my "graduation present" 77 LPC that got lifted from my band's uhaul
