These tests are great, love seeing people's guesses. Especially when they're corksniffers. Would be even more awesome if you could borrow a Friedman and see how many people get a big dose of cognitive dissonance.

There is a difference between recording a clip after spending hours or even days tweaking a bunch of presets or plugging into a good amplifier with valves and immediately getting a great tone. BTW, I think Friedmans sound like shit.

I won't deny that- I still have a couple of tube amps I love as well- pretty much always use the real deal when practicing with a drummer, and haven't played a single show with a modeler (I need to get over that one honestly). Was commenting more on the notion that modelers sound like shit and that there's a huge difference in the final product.

Wow! Axe was the steaming pile of shit! I was right though, A and D were the amp and a copy. I picked D to be the amp but only because I have golden ears and I cork sniff. No wonder Metallica has crappy live tone.. they use Axe FX?

I’m late to the reply party on this one. I actually thought this one was closer than the recto one. My guesses: A - Kemper, B - Helix, C - AxeFx, D - Amp. I wasn’t really feeling B and C. A & D both sounded good and also sounded closest to me, so that why I assumed they were the Kemper and amp. Honestly, I was going back and forth between which I thought was which. At first I though A was the amp; however, A sounded a little too polished in the lows, so that’s why I ultimately assumed D was the amp. As for my favorite, I actually preferred A. What’s funny is like most, I assumed the Helix was B because it was my least favorite haha. Cool shootout again.
