Hi,

just did a little clip, to see how the Rev D (TAD 12ax7A-C, TAD EL34B) works in context.
The Mesa was barely on. The mic pre was set to 50db.
Ibanez SR 905 + Darkglass B3K Straight in the Prism Sound Lyra 2.
No EQ on Guitars and Bass. Just a little Tape Presence and Maximizer on the Master.
It works surprisingly well, for basically zero effort, if you ask me.

And here is my Rev F (Mesa Preamp Tubes, Mesa STR 420 Coke Bottle 6L6)

Best Regards,
Simon

They both sound great. I like them both just different aspects. Nice clips and playing! Thanks for taking the time to share!

Cheers

Nevermind! I'm not sure if i need both. That's not a hell of a difference.
I somehow bonded myself more with the F.
It's near mint and came with the original papers, footswitch,cover and replaced my Bogner Uberschall Rev Blue.
Maybe i should try 6L6 and some different preamp tubes in the D., but i'm not sure if that would change much :)
But it's for sure an awesome, very rare, amp + it has a better resale value.
Thanks!

P.s.: I'm on the "I only need one amp trip" at the moment. The D is highly collectible. Not sure if i won't regret it. :)

I wouldn't let the D go. But I think I like the F better.

Was told by a buddy about the Mesa Recto revisions:
G = Great
F = F'ing Awesome

I tend to agree :D

It's kinda hard to decide...But the F has that goosebump mojo! (until the transformer breaks down...then it would be nice to have a replacement :D )

Liked both clips. The clip of the D sounded more organic. The F was a little dark. It could be because of tubes.

I’ve played a D and F in the same room and liked the F a whole lot more.

Thanks! Yes, it could be the tubes.
Was that with the same, or same type of tubes?
My Rev F is a bit thicker sounding, than my Rev D.
