I'm not trying to 'dis' Kemper here... I'm just a little pissed-off about what has taken place. This is more of a sanity-check, so please respond accordingly.

I uploaded two excellent sounding profiles of my Cornford RK100 to the Kemper Rig Exchange last week, and since sending my Kemper back to the dealer, I'm now being denied access to my profiles. Note: I sent the unit I had back in favor of getting a newer unit with the updated LED's that don't burn out as easily. According to Kemper, returning the KPA would not have changed my status as a Kemper forum member, and should have full access to the RE. Kemper says they cannot find any information pertaining to my membership. It's as though I never joined, yet my profiles are posted on the rig exchange with my name listed as the author.

This may sound presumptuous, and maybe even a bit paranoid; but do you think Kemper could have deleted my access to prevent me from deleting those profiles? After all, they are excellent profiles, so I can't blame them for wanting to keep them posted...:D There may just be a glitch in their system, I don't know? I was ready to purchase a new KPA Powerhead, but I'm holding-off until I get an acceptable response from Kemper support. Half the fun of owning the Kemper (IMO) is making profiles... If I can't have complete access to my profiles, I'm out!

I uploaded the RK profiles for all to enjoy. I put many hours and a small fortune into rebuilding my RK100, and as long as I had access to the files, I was fine with posting them. I'm now glad that I didn't upload my best profiles... If this situation isn't rectified accordingly, I doubt I will ever post another. I may just go with the Fractal Axe Fx II system instead.

Just know that when you upload profiles of your amps, you MAY loose access to those profiles when you sell your Kemper.

I think its a glitch, i cant see them going that far out of their way to do something like that.

I don't think Kemper is trying to do this on purpose, any dealings I've had with them or seen were pretty above board. Don't blame you a bit for being irritated.

When I first got my Kemper I posted stuff on their website and stopped after awhile - got tired of guys taking my profile, changing a cab or a few tweaks, then it suddenly appearing again on the board or offered as part of a 'bundle'. I don't think my profiles were resold, but it just felt weird having my amp profile taken, tweezed a bit and then being traded by others.

I trade profiles with personal friends all the time and sell some here and there, but I won't post on their exchange because it drove me nuts, having people take my profiles and repost as their own. You know where I'm coming from when I say it's not just throwing a mic in front of an amp - you have to have a good amp, good cab, good mic, and THEN place the mic correctly. It's different profiling an amp than it is just coming up with a patch, IMHO. Especially when it's a modded or rare amp.

The timing is strange is all... The problem is that Kemper says they have no record that I ever purchased a Kemper? I don't see how that's possible, since I've owned two of them. A non-powered rack and a powered head. It's a bit of a cluster, but I'm hoping it gets worked out.

I'm not going to post any more profiles either. I never considered that someone could 'hijack' my profiles and claim them as their own. Not cool!

Your profiles are very good. It's a shame you won't post them anymore.

I dont blame you for being upset either. But I sent them my profile pack and they were blown away by the profiles but Chris Kemper could not have cared less. Point being is they really dont care how good your profile is. I am sure its just a glitch since you forum profile is directly tired to the S/N of your unit and if you do not own the unit, you have no S/N, and no forum membership.
