UPS Import Fees?

I just ordered a guitar from Canada this week and I'm in the US. It shipped out yesterday. I just took a look at the tracking number from UPS it says that import fees are due. This has never happened to me before. Do I really need to pay the import fees or is it a glitch? Say's I owe a hundred bucks WTF?

Shit, it is. It was $1,800. Tracking says it's supposed to be delivered to me tomorrow. How do I pay this fee? Can I just pay it when the driver arrives, or do I have to do something else?

When this happened to me, I had to pay it before they would deliver. Like over the phone with customs.

I honestly don't know if they will let you do it when the driver gets there or not.

All I know is that it is currently out for delivery, and it is in Plattsburgh NY. I'm in NJ. I'll check the tracking again later tonight or tomorrow morning and see what's up. Guess I may need to call UPS tomorrow? What a pain in the ass LOL! I didn't think I had to deal with that shit.

I just paid the import fee through UPS. This guitar better play like butter after I set it up when it arrives. Didn't even get the guitar and I'm a little pissed already.

Is the guitar a Gibson or Fender? If so, since it was made in USA, you don't have to pay import duties. If it's not, break out your wallet.
