My Wizard amplifier was supposed to be delivered today. But UPS is now showing an exemption with the heading "train derailment".

Damn...sorry. That's definitely an odd and rather 'unusual' reason for late delivery... but ONE HELLUVA story if she still arrives in perfect shape.

The UPS train was likely delayed due to a different derailment that damaged the tracks or otherwise upset the train schedules. They cite that reason for delay occasionally.

Had a UPS delay due to train derailment a couple of months ago (that big one in Texas with multiple trains).

We've received more details regarding this situation that we wanted to share. A train derailed on Wednesday, February 5 near East Winona, Wisconsin. This derailment is due to broken train rails. With the tracks blocked until repair, UPS shipments may be delayed as a result. No UPS trailers or packages were damaged in the derailment. We'll work to get shipments delivered as soon as possible. Thank you all for your patience, concern and we will provide updates on the tracking at http://www.ups.com as they become available.

Wow... thats a new one. I've been shipping stuff UPS every day at work for the past 9 years and I've never seen that one pop up.

It happened to me too late last year. In the end it actually did not delay the delivery at all, best of luck.
