The $1000 is not rock solid but Scott played the Orange one pictured and YES THE NECK IS RAW

Bah. If anyone should not be taking part in pre-release hype it's Randall. Maybe instead of hyping what another company isn't ready to release Randall could finally release the KH-2 and KH-3 production models that were supposed to be "ready to go" at NAMM 4 months ago?

My Fender rep was in yesterday and said nothing is CONFIRMED on these guitars. No confirmed colors except black of course. No release date. No set specs.

IIRC, Chris Fleming (Fender Master/Custom Shop builder) was sent over to Charvel. He was pretty picky about what he wanted for the MIM Baja Tele, specs-wise, but when it all came down, there were still the production line Fender flaws everywhere. If I get a chance, I'll bug our Market Development Director (Former Fender PR VP) about callling Chris up and see if I can get the skinny on these.

I suspect we will be seeing USA Charvels get as much attention to detail as $1000 USA Fender strats get. We are going to be talking about production line guitars here right? A strat headstock and a cool logo do not equal the magic that was in those old Charvels and even some of the good parts built clones. They will probably be good guitars just like a Standard strat is a good guitar.

Exactly. Honestly, I highly doubt I will be buying one, that orange does look cool but I can't see that paint sticking to balsa very long.

No, just realistic. What will $1000 buy you from the Fender Corporation? It will buy you a nice guitar. It will buy you a Toyota Camry type guitar. When has a San Dimas Charvel ever been a Toyota Camry? Know what I mean? If Toyota bought Ferrari I wouldn't be overly excited about Toyota's announcement of an exciting new $30,000 Ferrari. That's all I'm saying. I hope I'm wrong. It will be killer for all of us if I'm wrong.

I think you've hit the nail here. Like most of the production line stuff, you're gonna have to shop with keen eyes, hands, and ears to get something special.

The Chilli-casters for $350.00 were a good deal on a decent guitar from Fender.
I'm just hoping it all pans out to be something as solid and well made as the Wolfgang USA Special was to the far more spendy USA Standards.

I am not going into this blind, I too believe that the bodies will share the same production line as american standard strats and will more than likely be alder. When I hear the goods about them, and I will find out, I will either stay in if I am slated for the orange one or I with buy $100 worth of stuff that I need. No harm done imo.

Another possibility about this $1000 line..................Charvel has lost its luster and have become far over-priced for the average buyer so maybe this is a way for Fender to get the back into the mainstream. I have played a ton of the $1200-1400 pointy head Charvels and they are good guitars but if I can get the same one new for $1000???

Also show about 5-6 colors that could be the one off colors....no clue.

If I had to "guess", I'd say that this is going to be a Summer NAMM item. Specs will be probably listed around that time from FMIC/Charvel in a pre NAMM press release.

I heard from another source that the first run of limited edition colors was going to include a blue Tele!!!

I called back and it's true! They are getting only two Teles, one black and one blue, so I switched my order.
Red strat is still available.
