Use the Pod Go to try out "real" pedals?

So I had this weird thought - since most people feel like the pedal models in the POD Go are pretty accurate- I wonder if you can use it to shop for pedals that you are considering buying and see how those pedals will sound with YOUR GEAR. In YOUR HOUSE. All of your guitars and amps - you can try them with the modeled version of the pedal, instead of just using what the music store has for you to use. Instead of "auditioning" pedals by abusing the Sweetwater/Guitar Center return policy while burning up the Earth, one UPS truck at a time.
So that's my idea and we're going to see how stupid that idea is. Or not.
