I can't speak for the other Cameron owners, but....coming from a guy who's had a Cameron up for God knows how long now... I see it this way: selling it for what I am, I'm gonna lose probably $150 in shipping and fees. So I'll get $1900 for a 3 channel, hand made amp that I have about $2400 invested in. That's ok. Don't mind the $500 loss. What happens when I drop it lower- to say $1800? Then I'm getting about $1650, losing about $750 and I still bet no one's going to come running for it. Can't go back up! So then I'd be forced to drop it even lower and end up eating a helluva lot of money. Drop it down to $1600 and get $1450 back on my investment? Still not selling? $1400 and get back $1250? And for what? That Ocean is one of the best sounding amps I've ever owned. If I decide to get a backup for my Aldrich at some point, I'm not going to find an amp that badass for that price. So I don't mind holding my ground for a while. Gotta draw a line somewhere. I'm recording and doing gigs with it so I'm enjoying it while I have it. Nothing wrong with that. Better than giving away an amp I love, can't get anywhere else, and would regret giving away. Cameron might've ruined his name and might not be in demand anymore but he does make a badass amp!

When I tried to sell my CCV to pay for my BE it was the same thing. When the stigma dies down people will start to remember just how good these amps are and the prices will go back up. Now that I paid off both amps, neither will be for sale.

I think I'm about to break a record for cheapest Mark built CCV sale, ever.....I'm tired of looking at the fucking thing

Hell let me take it for a test spin... :D

I think prices on here are typically reasonable but yeah, there are a few that leave me scratching my head. Usually doesn't bother me but it is a little annoying when it is an item I am actually looking for. I don't know whether to ask them if they would take $____ (used market value) or just leave it be and move on.

on local ads i've seen people list stuff with like 10% off .. like new mint** etc etc

i don't know what's worse listing for ridiculous prices or people lowballing

You should see my local used sites. $1400 rectos that have been re-posted for over a year. Guitars $20 off the new price. It's absurd.

And that's not even the worst of it. You should see what people are asking for TV's, phones, ect...

I had been saving my lunch money for a Cameron. Even had a private side deal on one set up. But all of the buzz in the digital world, specifically the Kemper. I decided to wait on a Kemper. But just bought a 90 used Les Paul Custom yesterday.

So I will be getting a Kemper and doing some critical comparisons. If the Kemper is not up to it, then I will sell it and be getting a Cameron, an old one. If the Kemper is 95% as good, then I will be selling off 4 or 5 amps while the price is still decent.

It isn't just the awesome sounding Cameron's going cheap. I am looking at the losses I will take on my used gear. But if you can get a Kemper for 2K and load 100 awesome profiles, it is no wonder big expensive heads don't move as fast.

But I don't think my MKIIC will ever get sold just because I profile it. Some things you just keep.

And each ad like that has the disclaimer "no low-ballers." Some people are nuts.

Yep. Gotta say, I'm looking hard at getting a Kemper myself. It's gonna replace a lot of gear for a lot of people. No doubt.

I decided to keep all my amps and stop selling them to get another one because I always end up missing something about them. You also always end up loosing the money you invested in it. So slowly I've been trying to buy them back. I had a great sounding Mesa Boogie MkIIc( not the c plus) and that amp incredible. I sold it for $700 and so it on Ebay for$2,300. It's very rare that I see it on ebay, but when I do see one the price is way up there! I wonder why, since the MkII c + was more popular.

My strategy. Things that are not readily available again on the cheap, I plan to keep. It's mainly guitars I will be getting.
