I play in a couple of wedding/function bands as the only guitarist and besides the usual delay/reverb/chorus that comes in handy can anyone think of any other pedals that might fill out the sound a bit when needed. Maybe something like a POG or one of those Electro Harmonix pedals that sound like an organ/brass section etc...?

Thanks!

Agreed on the modeler. I keep a HX Stomp on my board for those "just in case sounds"- doesn't take up much real estate. In addition to the usual effects, I'll use it for things that get used sparingly but are nice to have- flanging, virtual capo (for a quick detune), whammy, leslie sounds, etc.

TC Electronics Mimiq might be a good option depending on what rig(s) you're running

If I was gigging a wedding band or a band that needed a ton of different tones/sounds, I'd be looking Axe Fx or similar.

Yep, this is the exact use-case that a modeler would be perfect for.

Seriously though, I recommend the Earthquaker Devices Transmisser. It's a long winded modulated reverb with some cool tweaks to it. You kick it on for the last note of a song and let it go doaoaoaoaoaoaoaoao... for a minute or two, and twist the knob for the filter. It's cool.

WAY better than having your singer talk between songs!

I used to play in a local wedding band for about 2 years. A Fractal Audio FX-8 floor effects processor would cover your bases based on your repertoire. It's like having every tool in the tool box. It's nice to know that you have it, in case you need it, instead of having to go out, buy the pedals, wire it up, run power to it, then find out it's not going to work out for you.

Your signature lists a Kemper, which should cover the waterfront so I'm a little confused by the question... maybe that just lives at a studio & doesn't get taken out to gigs? Multi-FX units are a great thing to have for any cover band performing live with a wide range of styles. There's a dizzying array of options for every budget - other end of the spectrum from Kemper has improved a lot in recent years, all the way down to a lowly $100 Zoom stomp box to tack onto existing pedal board. Lower end ones will never compare with with $2K modelers, but can still be pretty good live if you invest the time to learn & program whatever you get, and tweak to the rest of your rig.

I love my HX Effects personally as great bang for the buck & particularly find its switching/MIDI capability useful, the firmware updates for all the Helix stuff keep adding new effects every 3-6 months. It doesn't have a lot of really "out there" sounds like horns or robust options for synth tones (3.15 firmware added a few that I haven't explored), it's harmonizer isn't as good as a Pog or an H9, but they did add polyphonic harmonizer settings. HX Stomp is more compact if you don't need the extra connectivity/MIDI of the HX FX.
