How do these sound, What speaker do they most sound like, would you recommend them.

Thanks

Love em.

Tight, crunchy, not piercing in the high end. Supposed to be a greenback/fane union but have the better characteristics of a V30. I find them very detailed.

I pair mine up with RI greenies and it is fat crunchy city. They do wonders for your low end. greenies bring back some of the warmth and woodiness that I like. I'm sold on them.

Are they blowing these out anywhere? Discontinued but hey, i'd def consider more if i could get them at a good price.I hated my cab and tone for ages till I got these in there.

Right on I have been wanting to try them out but like you said their discontinued.

Go to the grail or MTS forums and go to "other classified" section. There is a guy selling two used 8 ohm Super V's for 150 shipped. That ain't bad at all...

I wonder how they compare to his new Lynchback Celestions? G12-50GL, I think they´re called.

Bump! I want to know also. Anyone compare them to the Lynchbacks?

Super v are warmer/smoother,big sounding ..,Lynchbacks are tighter with aggressive mids and cut better in band mix.

I have them in my Lynch box Cab....
every amp I run thru this cab sounds so damn killer.
My other 4X12 has V30's and Heritage in a "X" pattern.
The Lynch cab kills it easily.
I want to get a 2nd one BADLY. But more of a want then a need. ;)

I had a lynchbox 412, and to be honest I preferred the sound of the super V in an Orange PPC112.

It is a very cool cab though.

+1 on the Orange PPC412, that cabinet I tried in GC with my 1959HW and though it had V30's, I haven't listened to such a dynamic sounding cabinet in years!! I nailed this cab with you name it and it was tight as a drum. Now you need a dolly cart to move it around, but they are well built cabs for sure!
