Why is it that every pedal Ive tried I get a horrible feedback when these things are engaged? I even have an ISP G String pedal and they still squeal and feedback. I use the same settings that others use but when I watch youtube vids or listen to clips I never hear that god awful noise

What am I doing wrong? Had a DOD YJM, MXR ZW, OCD and now this Maxon OD808 and they ALL have uncontrollable noise. My gain is at noon on my Quickrod

what's with all this boosted/od love when they sound like this??

I don't have that problem. I don't use a noise gate either.

How are you powering them?

I'm having noise trouble with my new Fulltone Fat Boost. As soon as I turn it on, my tone gets thin, and I get a high pitch sqeal coming from my cab.

Does the Quickrod need more gain? Try with Level up and gain down. That's how most use them I think.

Do you have the gain/distortion all the way off on your ODs? And where is the tone set at. Output cranked I assume?

Long time OD808 user and never had that issue. I have never had the gain cranked and the level cranked. I have turned up the gain, but I get the level medium. I have also used it as a boost and had the gain almost off and the level cranked.

i think it depends on the amp. my 5150 is noisy as hell, where as i don't even use my noise gate with the mesa.....

No noise with any of my amps or od's. Keep the drive anywhere from off to about 9:00 and the level at noon or above. If you are powering the pedal with a one-spot or similar adapter without isolated outputs, that could be your problem. Or you may have shady wiring and need a power conditioner.

Od pedal doesn't need its level at max when boosting. 50%-75% is enough.

It would help if you told us your settings and how you're running everything.
