Hi folks
I'd like to try some speaker combination in my SLANT mesa cabinet

One of my friend told me to put the two V30 in the bottom and the two G12-t75 in the top (slant part of the cab)

Most of the cabinets with those speakers are in a X configuration (bogner ubercab, Randall KH cab) so I'm a bit skeptical about changing things around.

Anyone tried the top/bottom configuration???
Opinion needed
thanks

X pattern.

Loads of people have had great results with that pattern.

That mix works best in a straight front cab IMO. However, I would definately go "X". The blend of those 2 speakers is what makes it sound so nice. I wouldn't want a pair of 75's in an angled cab blasting at my head.

Im guessing you have 4 V30's... I like that combination better.

If I had 2 and 2 yeah I'd go X pattern also...

Another vote for the X. Works great. Because the cones are (slightly) different depths, doing an x pattern helps minimize any phase differences, at least in my non-scientific way of thinking about the speed of sound. :D

wow
alot of X pattern preferred :)
I'll try that then
thx mates

My cab is actually a roadking cab with 2x v30 and 2x c90

I think the c90 are a bit harsh on high gain settings.
The Splawn nitro sounds much better through the g12-t75 compared to the c90
