Vader 2x15 reviews or opinions?

I can't find much information on the Vader 2x15 cabinets. There's a video or comment here and there, but not much else. Has anybody played these or similar 2x15 cabinets? I'm about to sell my old 5150/Recto cabinet rig to get another Vader, and can't decide whether a 4x12 or 2x15 would compliment a 2x12 better. I may have found a deal on a Vader 4x12, and if that goes through then I'm not going to have enough for a 2x15, but I'm still curious about them.
 
i personally like 15's. you would assume they would be super bassy, but i found them to be more fuller sounding. well rounded, you could say. that was in a randall xxl scott ian sig cab with 2 v30's on top and an emi legend 15".
 
I had the 2X15 Warhead and 4X12 cabs at one time and they were sick together. The 2X15 cab really brings out the lower frequencies well without making your tone too bottom heavy. I have a 2X12 Vader right now and would love to get the 4X12/2X15 combo in the future.
 
If anybody has seen one for sale I'm going to be shopping around for a used Vader 2x15. I grabbed that 4x12 and it's a monster, but increased my 2x15 GAS.
 
BUMP.

I'm still wanting one of these and haven't been able to make it happen since these are nearly impossible to find used, and around 900 USD shipped directly from Vader (which isn't really a bad price at all, but I'm a miserly bastard). I've noticed many of the bands that use Vader full stacks aren't incorporating the 2x15s, but instead use dual 4x12s. Perhaps the 2x15s have too much low-end to be tight and consistent enough for my style of music?

Any other opinions/reviews or other information on 15s?
 
I gots two of them, one replaced the bass player so more money for me and the other is in the trunk of my car with a Punch amp bridge to bring the beats.
 
i have the randall 125 cabs with two 12's and a 15 in them. i love them big time.

i also have an x2 stack with the 4x12 on top and the 2x15 cab on the bottom. will never let them go.

but i would BY FAR suggest the ISP guitar sub over them all. this was the greatest piece of gear i bought....ever. you want uber tight bottom end, this is the way to go. i know they are expensive, but they are cheaper than a used usa guitar or a good new amp. i cannot recommend them highly enough for any sort of heavy music. you will be blown away.
 
15's are actually a great design for guitar! Check the shit out and you'll become a believer!

I would definitely dig having an ISP Sub. Someday maybe, but that's much more than I want to spend on a cab right now, when there's other things on my GAS list. I'm having enough trouble scrapping money together for the Vader, because I keep spending my money pile on other gear. It burns a hole in my pocket. :no:
 
hands down best metal cabs ever. i had the randall warhead 4x12 and 2x15 setup i fucking loved it!!!!!!!!
 
dig this, man. i am pretty sure we both play the heavy brutal stuff (i saw your a dying fetus fan).

i know the isp sub is expensive. but if i had to sell most of my gear to pay for gender reassignment surgery, i would keep one guitar, one head, one 4x12, and the isp sub. my friends that have tried it wig on what it does. if mine was stolen, i would eat pb&j for 2 months to get another one. (this is actually a REAL statement of the power of the product. i am a trucker, and eat steak and seafood all the time. food is the only thing i really enjoy on the road, so to say i would eat pb&j to buy a product is a true endorsement)

i know, i know....we all have other gear we want and it's hard to justify $1300 for something that just does bottom end. but in the past couple of months i have seen 2 of them pop up on ebay used, once for 850 and another time for 600 plus shipping.

the cabs i have that have 15's in them are cool. yes, they add bottom end. but seriously, it's not like the isp sub. i really wish you could come down to texas and try this thing out.

sell your plasma. sell your sperm. sell your grandma. thank me later.

(funny thing is, i picked up a warhead 2x15 cab in washington d.c. a week ago. it's sitting in my trucks sleeper berth behind me right now. i was surprised it fit through the sleeper door. juggernaut is coming down this weekend to try it out.)
 
Yep, definitely into the brutal shit. Damn, you're not the only person on this board who has touted the ISP Subs that highly either. It looks like I'm really missing out. I'm going to keep an eye out for an ISP Sub at used prices then, the only thing out there right now is in Columbia SC for a grand. If I can grab a sub for the same price of a new Vader 2x15, I would probably shoot for the sub instead.
 
Id like to ask a question about the need for this much low end in a guitar. Im not being a wise ass, I seriously want to know. Im a classic rock/metal guy so Im not hip to the huge bottom that fights the bass player and kick drum for space.

Every sound engineer I know knocks out most of anything below 100Hz on guitars in a live situation. Im just curious if you guys are trying to project that bottom end out front or if it's just for your own enjoyment of the ball rattling you feel on stage?
 
The place I normally play doesn't mic guitars unless asked, but really it's more for personal satisfaction. I play 7 string death metal, real tight percussive music, and I'm addicted to low-end, but I need it to be tight.
 
visited Adam a couple years back to demo the Vader 4x12 and 2x15. the 2x15 sounded a bit too scooped for my liking, even with the mids pretty much dimed on the amp. I prefered the 4x12, which handled all the low end the peavey XXX he had there would throw at it.

the 2x15 I think would definitely need to be matched with another cab to bring some mids to the equation.
 
I already own the 4x12, and planned on pairing it with the 2x15. :thumbsup:
