really disappointed with my avatar cab. problems galore on this thing. found a sweet deal on a vader cab and am wondering if the eminence legends will be a good fit for the savage. thoughts?

usually guvnor's and swamp thangs in an X pattern are recommended.

you could also try out some P50e's.

option three would be my choice, grab the vader cab, sell the speakers, and load the cabinet with mesa V30's

Legends sound similar to G12-75s imo. Very scooped but I'm totally unimpressed with Vader..not that my Marshalls are much better quality wise. Vader endorsed TONS of people in the beginning and, like Basson, went by the way side because of eminence and quality issues. I had the Basson endorsement..cabs seemed great but keep the eminence away from me.

Ive never heard a vader I liked.

Basson are made of mdf! burn them or lay them on their backs and throw sheet glass over them for coffee tables.

Vader/Eminence speakers are not for everyone. It really depends on what you play, because they don't really shine with your typical rock/metal player and definitely don't have that classic sound. There's a ton of bass and clarity, but you sacrifice speaker breakup and influence on the overall tone. They are extremely flat speakers, so you want an amplifier with loads of presence and midrange to pair with them. They were built with the Peavey XXX in mind, and are typically used with XXXs and 5150s. I've never played a Savage, but I've played the Fireball and Powerball, and I doubt they would've been a good mix with Vaders. Savages I hear are more midranged amps, so it may work.
