Van Hagar tones

I like DLR and Hagar. I prefer Hagar if I had to choose one. I love guitar tones from both eras. I personally prefer the tone on Balance over all EVH tones.
 
I just thought the tones were interesting. Only VH period I don't like are the Gary Cherone years...
 
DLR era VH destroys the Van Hagar years. On that note, I still like most of the Van Hager stuff except for the keyboard ballad stuff.
 
I dig both and thought your clips sounded KILLER! Nice job.

Mine too...loved 5150, OU812, and FUCK...but go figure thats when I was 18-22 years old and had nothing better to do but sit around listening to the radio working at a pizza joint or when I was in the USMC....so go figure thats what I would like of the 2-3 era's of VH. I also really liked Hagars solo act between 3 lock box and standing hampton...
 
Love EVH's Van Hagar tones. Nice job!

But I can't listen to Sammy's singing when he was in Van Halen. Love his singing in Montrose and like some of his solo stuff, but he's over singing the Van Halen stuff in the worst way IMHO.

The chorus to Eddie at that point was like the wah wah to Hammett.
 
So VERY tired of the DLR vs Hagar fight. I like all versions of VH. Why do neaderthals have to compare? Why are people still holding a grudge over DLR leaving VH and Sammy joining. Fuck its 2014. Who cares?

I think Eddie did great things in both versions of the band. There are killer guitars on 5150 too and the tone is amazing.
