nice to have vh back on the radar
eddie's tone isn't bad, just not brown sound. i like that guitar and the sound of it though.

i hope he does more creative melodic soloing on other tunes. this was his "phone it in" solo he's been doing since ou812. blues lick, wang bar, tap, done. we need more blazing holdsworth influenced stuff, and syncopated swing lines like days of old.

Dave really struggles with some of those notes!! I hope they're not releasing their best stuff first because this one doen't do much for me.

Just watched the video on Vimeo in full HD.
Song sounds good, Dave's voice and melodies are still there.
I'm sure Eddie has his wailing moments all over the CD,but this is a good single that will get plenty airplay.
The whole band looks happy and it's good to have them back.
I just have a feeling the record will be surprisingly good

i was a little skeptical, but by the end i was quite into it, DLR looks a bit creepy these days but i can live with that if the album is decent

It's not bad, but If that's the lead single, I worry about the rest of the album...

It's still cool that EVh and Roth are up there doing it though!

Don't worry , everyone knows the single is hardly ever the best song on the cd.i listened to it a few times now ,its growing on me, I'm liking it. welcome back VH

It's a good song, but at first listen, it doesn't blow me away. I'll have to give it a few more spins to see what I think...

Im not diggin it. I dont hate it but it isnt anything that Id want to listen to again. While I do have hope for the rest of the album, if it turns out to be stuff that Im just not into , thats cool too. At least he looks and sounds healthy and is putting out new music and thats all that really matters..

I'm kinda digging the tone Ed has going on...almost like the days he was using a Soldano SLO-100.

I also dig the backwards video...atleast they tried to add something somewhat visually interesting.

they should have put weeman dressed like herve villachez, in dark aviator sunglasses, run in and hump a supermodel's shin whilst sipping a mai tai, while she spun a ornate japanese umbrella, in color, as the last shot.

totally.

oh i forgot the other parts of the phone it in formula,

trill picking as he unison bends and ascends to the finale high note,
and the wah wah crutch.

i so hope he proves me wrong on the rest of the album and re-established himself as inventive master and where every note counts.

Eddie sounded good but the song sounded like just a jam with Roth singing some weird lyrics to it. I really hope the disc is allot stronger than this but then wouldn't you think they would release that first if it was. But then again, what do I know :D

i'm not clicking my heels as an old vh fan,
but i have a sneaking suspicion that come summer, the world will be chanting "tatoo" just as they were when "jump" was the catchphrase.

they really should look into licensing herve villachez's images for tour shirts

i don't really want to know what's going on here:

this guy is a goldmine.

Honestly the song is catchy, but nothing special!down in flames was a much better song!

I actually liked the song and get the feeling this will be one of the slower songs on the CD. Just sort of a laid back groove thing like "I'll Wait" or something. I like the song that they dug up from their past, "She's a Woman". That one has a cool, old Van Halen vibe that everyone loves.

I liked Ed's tone on that one. While it wasn't all classic Brown Sound, you could hear some pushed tube tone in there.
