I don't understand why people think they are not good...

They are my favorite of any amp I have heard. I liked the Herbert's cleans as well. (These are the only 2 Diezel's I have heard in person, sadly)

In fact, a few buddies of mine only had that to say bad about the VH4 before hearing it in person (obviously based their opinions from the internet). Then, when they finally heard it in person, their minds changed pretty damn quick.

I find the cleans very "glassy" and almost piano like... perfect for me.

I love every channel on my VH4. Every one is versatile and exactly what I want to hear.

Thanks Peter!

They're percussive and piano-like. Not Fender'ish and chimey.

Simple. They're "warm".

I really dig the cleans on a VH4...
it all depends on the clean tones you are looking for, the hagen i had was nice and glassy where as the vh4 is more percussive, neither is better than the other its just they are different.

Exactly. Its not that I didn't like any other cleans on other amps... I just loved the VH4's the best.

I also really dig the Herbert's cleans. I only wish I could hear all the other Diezels in person :/

Start saving in order to spend

Haha! First I gotta get a VHT Fatbottom 2x12 so my VH4 can be more "practice friendly" :P

Love ya, Uncle Mo! Hope all is well!? :)

If you have an Xotic EP Booster, you HAVE GOT TO try it on the clean channel. It sounds INCREDIBLE.

One reason why I love VH4 Clean channel is because it does not only have independent EQ, but it also has independent volume and gain controls. Im sorry, but I really do not understand why for example Herbert does not have independent gain control on the clean channel - I don't say Herbert cleans sound bad, but definitely not that versatile as VH4.

Every man builds his world in his own image. He has the power to choose, but no power to escape the necessity of choice.

I love the VH-4... it's my all time favorite amp on the planet... but I'll be the first to admit there really isn't anything special about the cleans... it's just a "clean" channel, the best thing about it is that loops on the VH-4 are so good and the clean is so basic with some simple effects it can sound AMAZING... but the clean is nothing to write home about...

....the cleans on the Herbert however are fucking outstanding... best cleans of any high gainer out there IMO, strangely enough the only other super high gainer that comes close is the Marshall JVM IMO... that head has stellar cleans as well, especially for being EL-34 driven...
