Hi all.. new poster here! Been a VH4 owner since 2007. Have always been a raving fan and have enjoyed reading the daily post. Although we have never meet I feel like I know many of you and have learned much about my amp thanks to folks like Mo , Paulie , Rizza etc . You all are a fantastic read.
I had to post this as I was truly blown away this weekend. I was going to order a new set of tubes etc for my VH4 from Jens. I normally install myself but I happen to be traveling to L.A this weekend and Jens offered to meet me and pick up my baby .
Jens drove an hour one way to meet me late Friday night. We meet and discussed what he could do to bring the amp to the next level. I felt so comfortable with Jens and decided to leave the amp with him for a week and then he would ship back to Phx. I was scared to ship but was willing to take the chance to allow Jens time to work on the amp.
Jens I dont think slept much over the next 24-36 hrs as he kindly drove back on Sunday morning to deliver my baby so we could avoid shipping. Jens told me of the changes he made and I had a really hard time driving back to PHX as all I could think of was the amp and what it might sound and feel like.
Got home unpacked and thought Id check the amp out later in the week but just couldnt do it! Was up most of the night laughing like a school girl or pissing myself depending on what channel I was playing... I was BLOWN away.
Channel one now is sooo chimmy and open. I use a few effects but to be honest it doesnt need any. Its so 3d and open now. I cant tell you how beautiful it is.
Channel 2 & 3 are now so ballsy and open. Very fluid. Its almost like the amp had a littel more give or sag but yet still surgical if that makes sense? Was really blown away with channel 4 as well . Never used a whole lot and looks like shes gonna see a lot more action.
I love my amp although it was a little dark for me. I could eq to get what I needed but Im just floored with the new set up. Its clear, articulate, ballsy, seemless changes from one channel to the other. Not dark at all! I just cant tell you how much better and improved the amp is thanks to Jens.
If you own a 2007 or earlier VH4 and you want to really open it up and give more balls and clairity I cant recommend Jens enough. Fantastic servise and truley the work of an artist.
