VH4 correct power attenuator

Diezel does not recommend the use of power soaks/ attenuators.

And why is that?
I play in a rather small bar and lower volumes are required. SInce the VH4 sounds better at higher volumes, this could be a solution (a pretty common one as well).

Its viewed as one of the best attenuators in the market so... would be great to have a more expanded opinion about it.

THank you very much,
P

actually there is one attenuator that papa approves of i believe. it is the two notes torpedo it attenuates plus emulates a mic in front of a speaker cab and you could directly input that into a pa system hope this helps

Hmmmm... thank you for your feedback but the Two Notes Torpedo is a mic and speaker simulator right? Not exactly the same purpose tool I think...

It also costs over 2000€ so... thats a big NO NO :)

Thank you for the suggestion anyway, keep'em coming.

an attenuator only makes sense, when you use power tubes saturation and sag... you then use the attenuator to get a saturated sound at acceptable volumes. but diezel seemed to not be built for pt saturation. the amps produce the sound mainly in the preamp section. another big influence - when playing loud - is the influence of the hard driven speaker. to get this sound at lower volumes you have to put the hard driven cabinets into a closed miced box.
