Hi,

I have been thinking about getting either a Line 6 M9 or M13 with a pedal snake. Will I be able to change channels on the VH4 using the L6 unit?

Also, does anyone have any experience with pedalsnake? Does it suffer with tone loss or are they any good?

Thanks,

Jake

yes, the m-series sends programm-change messages via midi, but just when changing to another "scene" (thats what they call it) an there are only 24 (or less, i'm not shure).

check out the manual:

the effects from L6 are awesome. i use a pod xt for stombox-modeling, wah and changing channels on the herbert. i use the pod xt with the L6 shortboard, so its just one cable coming from the stage:)

Not a direct answer to your question, but my band's another guitarist uses M13 to control his Engl Invader (through MIDI of course) and it works perfectly.

I'm using an M13 to control a VH4S. It's not intuitive to switch channels with a 'scene' change but you get the hang of it soon enough. Basically I copy the same pedal board to all 12 positions and then set them is strips of 3 to a channels on the VH4S. It makes sense when your're looking at it because the layout of the pedal board matches the 4 channels of the amp from left to right. It gives me 3 FX presets per channel.
