VH4S Channel inserts

Happy new year to everyone!!! :rock:

Got a quick question about the channel inserts on my VH4, where in the signal path is the send and return? does it just send the preamp signal out and return it before it hits the poweramp? bought myself a new toy but it recommends that the incoming signal should be straight from the preamp(?) so I was thinking the channel inserts send and return could solve my problem.. Otherwise Im gonna have to buy one of those Allan Holdsworth Harness II/ juice extractors and a nice stereo poweramp to even use it properly (cue sound of bank account whimpering)!!!

The channel inserts come after the tone controls and before the effects loop.

FWIW, I've used an ADA MP-1 in the channel insert return of Ch.1 and it works very well.
The presence and deep controls are still active. Frankly, it's the best power amp I have ever heard.
