VHT 2/50/2 question

In my 2502 I see a switch for 6l6 and el34 for both channels. I know I should run EL34s regardless but is it ok to have two different matched pairs in each channel?

The amp also has a blown fuse on the B side (mis-matched tubes from previous owner). Is it still ok to use the A side while I wait for a fuse to come in?

I´m not entirely sure mismatched tubes can blow a fuse, but hopefully it was just a tube that died and tripped the fuse.

That's true. When I got it though one side had a pair of 5881s and the other side had a 6l6 and an el34 and that is the side with the blown fuse.
