VHT 2/90/2 KT88 question...

Need some help with my VHT 2/90/2...

I am wondering about the set-up of the 2/90/2 power tubes. One of the tubes blew in mine and I am wondering if anyone knows how the tubes are paired. There are obviously 2 channels, so a pair for each side, yet the tubes are staggered, 1 in front and then 1 in back, then another in front and another in back. Are the front ones matched or the back ones matched or do I switch out the front and back that are next to each other? I want to know because I want to replace the blown tube and its partner, so which would be the partner tube for a matched pair??

I've got this same power amp as well - killer unit if I may say so myself. Nevertheless, if you bought it new, there ought to have been a manual that gives you a schematic of the interior circuit layout. If not, email Fryette directly - they'll get back to you very quickly, as was the case in my experience with them (in fact, it was the man himself who got back to me not 2 hours later with the answers to my questions).

Good luck!! Blowing KT88's must have been a horrendous sound

Yeah, I was planning on sending them an email, just thought I would check with the RT brothers first. Thank goodness I wasn't playing when the tubes fried, it certainly would have been a terrible experience.

And yes, love the VHT's...have 2/50/2 and 2/90/2, sold my 2150, just wasn't using it.

How have you been working with your XTC 20th and your Hagen? I am having a hard time deciding how to use these together, along with a couple other amps I have. Just wondering if you are blending the sounds or using them both individually.
