Fryette changed names January 1 2009. The Sig X came out the first few months of 2008. So this one was built in 2008.

Good find. One of the lowest prices I've seen.

Never got to try the Sig but I'm a huge VHT fan.

Deliverance, definitely under 1K. I've seen them for 650. But the Sig X seems to hover around 13-1400 when I see them usually.
It was gonzo pretty fast, someone thought it was a good deal.

Nah $1k is normal for a Sig X. I bought mine for $1,075 and there were 3 others all between $950 and $1,100. I sold mine for $1,175 but that was the only one listed for a normal price on Reverb at the time.

I had to keep myself from pulling the trigger on this. I knew the price was high-average, but I've been wanting to try one so bad. I love my Deliverance and pittbull, but I've never even heard a sign x in person.

Used prices of used Fryette amps has been going up over time. In the last two years with the change in economy I have seen this with several brands. On other amps like Diezel the price is going down.

I don't recall ever seeing one this cheap.....1100?
There was a sig:x that popped up recently that was modded. Had a 3 way power switch. Since the price on this was low, I'm wondering if this was it. Fryette/VHT stuff was selling pretty cheap on the used market, until Soldano announced his retirement. People must have realized that other builders will too one day.

Super versatile amp, a VHT Sig:X was the first "big iron" amp I bought. Still have it, you can get a usable sound with almost any setting. Isn't ultra-high gain, but run a tube screamer in front of it and it will easily stand up to my VH4 or Savage.
