Has anyone tryed this combo? Im in the used market for a good 4x12 to go with my herbert. Right now Im running through Mesa Standard cab and it sounds good but thats all I ever used are mesa's with V30's. Also Bogner uberkabs have got my attention as well. Im sure the German Diezel cabs sound great but a bit out of reach at the moment. Oh how about the orange cab too. Any insight would be much appriciated.

Thanks

I use the VHT fatbottom 4x12 with my VH4 and I love it so much. really tight. the P50E speakers sound so much better (IMO) then V30's. the Deliverance cab is also very awesome (P50E speakers as well). It has more of an open sound, while the Fatbottom is really focused. couldn't go wrong with either.

my buddy has a Herbert and a Fatbottom 4x12 as well and its the same. sounds great :)

my pleasure man! The Deliverance 4x12 I played my VH4 through was the Fryette one.

be careful cause, if I recall correctly, VHT's company name still exists, but it is not the same as VHT used to be... which the old VHT is now Fryette. (I believe the owner of old VHT and Fryette is Steve Fryette haha) could be wrong though.

I currently own the followibg cabs ...

VHT Fatbottom P50E
Diezel rear loaded V30 / G12H30 X-pattern usa
Diezel FL V30 german
Diezel FL GK100 German
Orange 4x12 v30
Mesa rectifier v30
Mesa roadreadyEV 4x12
Marshall 1960tv Greenback
Marshall 75s 4x12
Carvin v30 FL slant
Marshall 1960 v30
Soldano legend
Bogner v30 rl

the german cabs kills - GK100 best!
the carvin cab is the best bang for the buck!
Vht cab is one of the better proprietary speakered cab - still like gk100's better.
Front loaded cabs for Herbert are the way to go.

Wow!!!! Dude you have quite the collection! Thanks for your insight.....

I ended up getting a Fryette fat bottom and must say it sounds SO F'N GOOD..... Im in love with this herbert it is just awesome! I cant believe the difference in sound in comparison to the Mesa cab..... The fat bottom is so tight and focussed and tracks my picking on the low end as fast as I can pick, it is right there. Very pleased!!!!

Congrats! Great cab. I had one and loved it. Actually so it to fund a Herbert years ago. LOL. I had my Herbert running through an uber cab for years, then went to mills which was really nice. Finally got a German 4x12 RL with v30s, which best cab I've heard with my Herbert.

Pretty tough to beat the German made cabs, they sound the best to me.

Post a pic of all these cabs you claim to own. Don't paint such a broad brush by unilaterally telling the whole music community that the gk100 is the best - that's your opinion. You may have worded your statement as "the gk100 is definitely a viable option to investigate".

As far as I'm concerned the Diezel RL X-pattern configuration 4x12 (V30xCPD) is the most versatile - FOR ME AND MY TONE NEEDS.

I will say the Fryette cabs are awesome units, and the P50Es once broken in, are stellar drivers

I'm a happy Deliverance owner - thing is tits

How long would you say it takes to break in those said drivers? :D

According to Steven Fryette, around 40 hours of moderate volume play!

Hey EMg77 - If you can't or are unable at this time to get a Diezel 4x12 to match up with your Herbert, then I would strongly suggest that you hold off and save up for the real deal. I've been playing my Herbert for nearly seven years now. I've hooked up my Herbert with Bogner, Mesa standard, Mesa oversized, Orange and a Framus, and a few other knock-offs and all 4x12s. No 4x12 compares better to the Diezel 4x12 (rear or front) with Herbert. It's just the perfect match.

Once you get a Diezel 4x12 it will be with you forever and you’ll never look back. So be patient grasshopper and get what was specifically designed for the beast - Herbert.

Correct. Or, shortcut - run an iPod through a poweramp at moderate volumes, place cab face down on soft air channeled surface, and play music for 20 to 25 hours. The full range of the music breaks the drivers in sooner than the limited range of the guitar signal.

But ya, never judge a P50E till she's broken in. After which? I swear they're one of the best.

Peace,
Mo

Thats the plan brother. I have heard nothing but good things about the german made Diezel cabs. In the mean time I am more than happy with this fat bottom.

I will just break it in the old fashion way!!!! And if they just get better then I am more than pleased.... I do hear a bit of an issue with the breakup but I assume that all smoothes out once broken in !!!!!! :)

Sorry - forgot to put IMO at the end of my post. If you want to see pics of my gear...most of it's on my website still under construction (68 guitars, 17 heads, 16 cabs, etc... ) http://www.GuitarHalo.com

ps. the German GK100 front loaded cabs sound the best - IMO!
