So i gotta VHT ultra lead set it on standby then fire it up and after playing when i disengage the standby switch to back on standby i hear a loud "Turp" sound... this phenomenon also happened to my VHT classic which also gotta same 100/50 watts standby switch... and when i turn the standby switch to standby it also have such a pop... i wonder if its normal ? I tried experimenting my old 50CL and its dead silent when i engaged the standby switch on "standby"

Do you guys experience the same as i am facing ? And its normal ?

Hi, same thing on my UL but it is not really very loud so it's fine for me.

Ohh... i guess those with the "=o-" switch will end up with the 'thud' sound when switching from your full power mode "=" to standby and same for the half power mode "-"

But for those without the =0- on/off/on switch just a normal on/off will be dead silent on the fly...

Anymore VHT user ie 100CL, UL or CLX/Classic has experience this standby switching pop sound? Just wanna rule out that i my amp is normal from what i know :)

I owned a UL for a few years in the mid nineties and it never popped.

I bet it is just fine. I would not dwell on shit like that unless the amp exhibits symptoms of ill health. If it is a VHT that is very unlikely from my experience. Have had absolutely Zero failure in any of my VHT amps ever.

I think my Deliverance has some pop, I'll try to check tomorrow. Could be microphonic preamp toobs.
