Eh. ok.

Pete did the best job of easing into it and creating some peaks and valleys. I prefer that as opposed to starting right out with a shredfest.

I have to agree there. I'm a big Aldrich fan and love everything he does but in the context of that jam, Pete knocked it out of the park with his tone, style and feel. Don't get me wrong, Doug and Andy were awesome but Pete had a feel to solo that the other two in my opinion did not.

Three of my favs....kind of a let down. Pete definitely nailed his part. Tone was great. I love technique and speed but Andy was just kinda...blah...out of place.

I hate to be a critic, but I didn't like any of the 'tone' that people have posted they like. I'm with Carl in that it was BLAH. . I thought Andy Wood's playing was incredible though , but probably for a different song. I am a HUGE HUGE Pete Thorn fan , but nah didn't do anything for me

I'm sure there'll be some better recordings where we can hear the tones, etc, but nah Carly can play circles around those guys for that jam ;)

Thanks for posting. I am going tonight. I am anxious to see what is new in the Suhr camp.

All I know is I was watching Andy and wishing I had his chops... and gear.

don't think it's possible at all to judge tone from this video, audio is very muffled to my ears. I much prefer Pete's style of playing over straight shred and tapping. Aldrich is great too

Ok, why not nitpick. Yeah, sometimes I don't get playing what amounts to excersizes over Voodoo Child. They say shred died 20 years ago but we all know that you put more than 1 guitarist on stage and a sword fight breaks out every time.

Other than that, well they are just jamming and having fun so who cares right? And not sure if it's the camera but only Pete had decent tone there.

Pete Thorn I though had the best tone in that vid and his playing most fit the spirit of the original .
For me his phrasing was the best for this.

But all are amazing guitarists ,Doug in Whitesnake his live solo is unbelievable
and Andy is insane with chops

Everybody is welcome to their opinion but Im going to just go with the above. If any one of us armchair critics or weekend/basement warriors gets asked to Jam at the Suhr factory during NAMM, we're all welcomed to play whatever we deem appropriate..

I liked it and couldnt give a damn if it was proper or appropriate...

Well I thought it was cool. Judging tones from a video like that is kinda silly IMO.

I thought that was a really fun jam. I can't tell anything about the tones though - the camera mic is so incredibly overloaded there is an additional layer of distortion above what the guitar amps are producing... Who cares though - great fun to hear those guys having a little fun and entertaining the Suhr employees... Nice of them to come out and do that.

On another note, I'm a complete nut... I'm gassing bad for a black Les Paul Custom and I was just reminded of that watching Doug play his Paul... I never learn, I tell ya...

"Haters gonna hate."

I'll agree w/ what Kage said as well..

Also.. Until you guys can do better,

I'd say you guys can politely jam it.. : )

It's always sad to me when some people on these forums treat playing music as if it were a contest or sport.
