Andy I was there too, awesome set. Really super musical, you got so many great sounds out of that B bender T guitar! Loved it!

Andy you're a monster! I WILL take up on that Skype lesson we discused a few months ago. Pete you sound amazing too!

Andy, any video I watch of you just amazes me!! Your talent is mind blowing!! Still waiting for your band to make a visit to the North West!!

For me this video is a highlight due to Playing onstage with 2 of the best there is,BUT I was called onstage completely out of the blue right before this song, I didnt have time to get a proper tone and just had knobs wherever they were when I went up there, youcant exactly stop the show to dial in tones ;) as for my playing what you guys don't know is that during Pete's solo Doug gets in my ear and says"you better shred!". So when Doug Aldrich requests silly shred licks that's what you play haha, you can actually see me laughing the vid when he says it. But it was just something that happened without a setup planning or anything, and it was amazing fun. No I dont like my tone in it either, no I wasn't playing anything serious but it wasn't about that.

That said it is an amazing feeling to rock alongside those two monsters!!

Taking into context of what the event is, I think this was great. 3 amazing players sharing their talent and more importantly having fun making music.

He who accepts the challenge therefore placing himself in a position to be judged wins........ ;)

Oh yeah, Thursday @ the Whitehouse was fantastic Pete  Your a class act and a true pro. I remember Marco Minnimen.. coming up to Andy Wednesday night asking "what are we gonna play?" (Rock n Roll by Zep Andy told him) Andy gave him a quick rundown of what structure of the song to play (to simplify it at best). It was just a event for fun that was winged on the most part. I was near Andy, he was just watching the show. He had no idea Doug was gonna call him up while he was up there. It was funny, Andy had that look of "who me..you serious?" Then Doug tells him "he wants to hear him shred" or else..lol (pretty much told him, to not hold back) after he got up there. It was awesome! Doug is a cool fellow like that and a legend..As far as amps and tone.. When your put in a situation, where your not using your rig. It takes a minute to adjust your dynamics with the amp and feel comfort. It was an amazing show, with some of the most talented and nicest pro's in music. The bassist Martin brought with him was amazing. So was the local drummer. Well, Marco is Marco..he's insane..lol. I am so happy for him with JS gig.. :)

Hi guys,

Was a fun night! Keep in mind, Andy and Doug and myself just got up and kind of haphazardly got a tone and then went for it, is discombobulating at times doing things like this because they are throw and go's- you gotta just try and have fun and not worry about the tone too much and all that. Whoever was up before might have the treble dimed or something and that's easy to miss when you are just trying to get a song started ASAP. Like with any jam, you gotta just be you and try and play something interesting I guess, haha.

I actually will have another crack at this tune tonight with Steve... I'm already thinking of what to do different, ha!

Doug and Andy can sure tear the shit out of a guitar, ill say that! Damn... The chops!

Right on point there

I thought that was a really fun jam. I can't tell anything about the tones though - the camera mic is so incredibly overloaded there is an additional layer of distortion above what the guitar amps are producing... Who cares though - great fun to hear those guys having a little fun and entertaining the Suhr employees... Nice of them to come out and do that.

On another note, I'm a complete nut... I'm gassing bad for a black Les Paul Custom and I was just reminded of that watching Doug play his Paul... I never learn, I tell ya...

Steve

A black LP custom is next on my list too

Oh yeah, me to. Doug makes me want one (Les Paul) more. I played the new Bonamassa Standard at the Gibson booth..crazy good. The double neck Modern was wicked at the Suhr factory. The Suhr factory tour, really made appreciate what those guys (and gals) do. Chris is great guy. Tone is so perceptive thru video. Even worse, not pro shot.

I agree with Kage and BionicMark, they were having a good time, playing music and it was just a jam, and it looked like a blast was being had. I would love to see some better videos to check out the tones as well.

Besides basically no rehearsal....
Yeah guys you really have to have a screw loose if you try and judge tones from that camera mic. That was Aweful ! It didn't sound like that though. We did dump everything in to a full pro tools sessions along with 4 cameras and it sounded awesome here. Unfortunately WE cant release that stuff due to copy rights on owned music. The original stuff we will post when it is ready.

great to see these top players having fun
hopefully I speak for the majority in saying I don't judge tones or performance form these impromptu jams
these guys are beyond such scrutiny with their previously released content
keep it coming as those of us not lucky enough to attend are privileged to be watching

Judging tones from camera mics is the new standard. Well, that and the other camp that says clips are useless. <burp>
