Video guys: Mov to dvd?

Just got an iphone 4 and want to convert some videos I did of my kids to dvd. I'm on a pc and am looking for a free program that will do this. I've tried tmpeg and free dvd creator but these seemed to degrade the quality of the video. The phone's video outputs to 1280x720 but these programs squashed it down to 720x480. It still looks good on dvd but I want to keep the same quality if possible.
 
I actually tried that and didn't see any options to keep the video format size the same. It also put it to 720x480. Where would I find this in the program?
 
You cannot keep the same size. The DVD only works in standard definition, Your vids are Hi definition, and will be resized when you want to convert them to DVD compatible formats.
 
I understand that. So what is the point of having HD video recorders?
 
The point is that you use HD compatible players :) You watch them directly from the iPhone, from your laptop through a HDMI connection, from stand alone hard disk media players, etc. Or, burn them to Blu-Ray and watch them from a BD player.

DVD is not HD, so there is no way to keep that HD quality. Blu-ray is HD, so you'd have to have a Blu-ray burner... Otherwise you might could save the videos to a flash drive. Many TVs nowadays have USB slots on them for hooking up a flash drive.
