Hi guys,
I bought Marshall 1936 recently. It is older JCM900 MDF version. Seller claimed two V30 inside. At first look it seems like usual Chinese V30, gold-ish basket, new Celestion Int. logo, but the sticker was ´Made in UK´. Also there was transparent glue on spider opposite to red on Chinese. At last thing was serial number EB28. I found the same reversed pattern on UK made Creambacks. My conclusion is that they are made in uk at same time when Creamback were introduced. Any V30 afficiados ?

UK

Is there a big difference or any difference between the UK and made in China? My newer Diezel FL412 has Chinese V30.

Not really a difference... I think they may have moved production back to the UK now days.. at least for the greenbacks

I used to think UK vs Chinese, there must be a tone difference...bought some older Fender Tonemaster cabs to pull the UK V30s. That was 10 yrs ago. Since then I've owned 2 Mesas(UK V30s) a Rivera(Chinese V30s) and 2 Bogners(Chinese V30s) and honestly, the cab matters more than where the speaker is made. Those 3 brands of cabs sound phenomenal and are all very close in tone...The Mesa slightly darker than the Bogner while the Rivera was almost identical to the Mesa.

They make a bunch of their more popular models in the UK now, redback, creambacks, g12m, g12h, classic lead, etc.
