I have a newer Hiwatt cab with Vintage Simms Watts brandedFanes with date codes identifying the cones at Pulsonic cones dating from 62 to 71. Someone locally wants to buy the cab, or trade it for either a 1996 LP studio in Alpine white w Ebony board, or an EVH III cab (made in Mexico) plus 500.00. Does anyone here know the value of these speakers. Can't find any auctions or comparable recently. Seems any older auction for anything similar are from the UK. Seem Vintage Fanes are pretty rare to come by here in the USA
Any experts care to advise me on pricing of the speakers alone? Thanks!

Hmm... if those are re branded original Crescendos then I'd guess 500 per speaker possibly? But you have to track down the exact Fane model that might be...Sam (Braintheory) might have more info...I'll let him know to take a look..

I found this on Reverb....https://reverb.com/item/59996028-vintage-1970-simms-watts-4x12-guitar-bass-cab-cabinet-with-fane-speakers-original-pulsonic-cones

Looks like maybe the same speakers as yours?

Vintage Fane’s outside Crescnedo’s seem to be a less explored territory. Maybe some on tgp might know more. My Crescendo’s for what it’s worth all have Kurt Mueller cones with aluminum dust caps and weigh ~21 lbs. Crescendo’s I’d think should get at least $500 or more a speaker, but if they are re-branded I wouldn’t know how the value would be affected, but sounds like it’s probably not a crescendo I’m guessing

Thanks Guys.. I went ahead and agreed to sell the cab outright. I hope I didn't blow it by parting with unobtainium, but I need the money right now and got about a 400.00 uncharge from the cabs value if it had run of the mill speakers.. Probably worth more to sell the speakers separately, but went ahead and save the headaches. one and done! Thanks again for the input and taking the time to respond!

Cheers,
Jason
