Vintage T single-humbucker 3-way switch? (now NGD!)

Looking for some info on the switch positions on these, I believe it's series/parallel/split, but which is where?

Also, any truth to "Only 5 of these exist. This was a guitar that Dave Friedman designed and Built for himself."?

Well, now I have one in hand (not the one in the pic), and the switch is pretty self-explanatory :)

Still curious if the latter part is true, though.
 
This is the one that just arrived, and it's killer! The 3-way switch on one pickup is such a great idea, I'm really loving this guitar :)
