I've worked in AI for decades; it's been reducing the need for humans or human expertise long before I started. Most people have no idea where it's being used or for how long.

The first AI system I helped develop was deployed in the late '80s, in an insurance company; I completed and deployed several more by the mid-'90s; countless more since then.

Back then in my early years, only large companies and governments could afford it; for the last decade or so that's no longer true.

The genie is out of the bottle; only a matter of time before something great or horrific happens, maybe both.

Enjoy the decline.

haven't done much with robotics, but human-like robots will need to be heavy and strong.

those "ladybots" will likely be heavy enough to crush a person and have the strength to crush bones. people will be injured or killed. good luck with that. :dunno:



edit: now a robot that can cook, clean and do other chores around the house (e.g., change the oil in my car, mow the lawn) would be great. Likely it will take several robots. I'll start with an AI robotic lawn mower that actually works. :D

Oh there’s already fuckin’ anime dorks on Reddit posting their ChatGPT girlfriend conversations for everyone to see. Shit’s only going to get worse from there. At some point someone is going to start a new movement about asking consent from ChatGPT before the anime/incel dorks get it running on in a RealDoll.

my friend works in this field and he said they are close to having something very lifelike that you will handle and make sweet love to while wearing goggles that show what appears to be the woman of your dreams. When this happens, most men will never leave the house again. Imagine if a lifelike experience with the chick of your choice became available!!!? Or imagine being a teenager hitting puberty and seeing this is available, hahahahaha!! Most simpletons will weigh the effort of meeting a girl in real life vs their virtual reality relationship with a young Cindy Crawford in her prime.
