Hello everyone,
I’d like to share my recent experience with Vision Guitar regarding an overpayment on an order from the USA. My goal is simply to inform the community and help others avoid running into the same problem.
Order details:
• Product: Seymour Duncan Philip Sayce Mother Limited Run Strat Pickup Set
• Paid via PayPal: 1,837.60 PLN (approx. $500), which included 343.60 PLN ($94) listed as “taxes”
The issue:
Even though tax was already charged at checkout, when the package arrived in Poland, UPS and customs charged me again:
• 419 PLN ($115) VAT
• 60 PLN ($16) duty
• 39.20 PLN ($11) clearance fee
The seller later admitted the checkout tax was applied incorrectly due to their Shopify setup. I have full documentation (invoice, PayPal receipt, UPS/customs receipts, and email correspondence).
Attempts to resolve:
• I’ve now been waiting 46 days for a refund from Vision Guitar.
• I sent multiple emails, most were ignored, and I still received no refund.
• I filed a PayPal dispute, but it was denied because—according to their terms and conditions—the transaction was technically “processed correctly.”
Current situation:
I am sharing this publicly to document the issue and warn potential buyers. I am still hoping Vision Guitar will resolve this professionally by refunding the overpaid amount of 417.60 PLN (about $115).
If anyone has advice on how to handle refunds in cases like this (international orders, incorrect tax charges, etc.), I’d greatly appreciate it.
