Hey guys;

We wanted to share some sound clips of our new ODS-60. It is not the typical metal tones but rather a bit more fusion like so I hope you like it.

ODS60 Sound Clip #1

ODS60 Sound Clip #2

As always questions are more than welcome so please feel free to ask.

Thanks guys!!

Sounds great Trace. What exactly is this? I just checked your site and couldn't find any info.

wow man, that is awesome sounding! Articulation on that is great, as well as the voicing :thumbsup:

Damn that amp sounds nice!

Has very nice violin type leads and great seperation.

Awesome job Trace!

This amp really is sweet. Never thought about it, but the "violin" comparison is dead on. Definitely can be dialed in with more gain, this is more in the "sweet" arena. In Hemi mode you can get some aggressive tones. Nothing better than an awesome amp from an awesome dude. Trace and I comminicate frequently and have lengthy tone discussions. He was building the first one and mentioned it to me, knowing my tone desires. I picked up a cheap Bassman, had it shipped directly to him and a couple short weeks later I had this masterpiece. Really rounds out the tone collection. I can't recommend Trace highly enough.

It's a sneak-peek of a new production amp, which we are calling an "ODS-60". It's a single channel with either 6L6's or EL34's (clips feature 6L6's).

Controls:
* Gain & Drive controls
* Master Volume
* EQ - Bass, Mids, Treble, Presence
* Mid Boost 2-position Switch
* "ODS / Hemi" Mode switch
* Bright switch for Gain control
* Tube Fx-Loop

The "Mid" Boost switch allows you to boost or cut the mids. The "Bright" switch is customized to retain the low end at lower settings verses rolling off low end like many Bright switches do. There are two (2) modes, "ODS" and "Hemi". The clips were done in ODS-Mode. When the Hemi-Mode is engaged there is more sustain, more gain and is more aggressive. We are working on clips for this as well. You also have a choice of a Tube Buffered Fx-Loop ($295) but we are running a special until May 31st where we are including the Tube Fx-Loop for free. IE: the amp will sell for $2195 w/the Tube Fx-Loop but we are going to offer it for $1895 with the Tube Loop.

If you have any other questions please let me know. We will be posting photos on our Facebook pages in the next 1-2 days then it will hit out website next. As we wanted to keep this in a small package we have chosen a small Bassman style headbox/look, which is also different form what we normally offer but feedback is always appreciated! :)

Thanks Pete!

The goal was to offer something that was high gain but very articulate with great bloom to the notes as well as a great deal of separation. I'm glad that translated in the clips!

Thanks for listening and posting :)

It is an amp that can cover a great many tones. IE: cleans, blues, fusion (like the clips posted here), Bonamassa style blues/rock to some pretty heavy rock/metal tones (in the "Hemi" mode). I was defiantly going to the violin-tone and I am glad it can be heard in these clips as there is another 50% of gain on tap that we did not demonstrate in the first 2 sound clips.

Thanks for the overly kind words. I knew this would be an amp that would resonate with you. Richard Fortus just got a chance to spend some time with his and I just spoke with him a few moments ago. He is really enjoying it and is also recording with it right now. If we get lucky we will be able to use a clip of two, if so I will post them here. He was playing with a Strat and SG yesterday/today.

We can also use some Fender amps as a donor/platform amp to install the circuit into. If anyone is interested in that please email me at trace@voodooamps or post it here. I do not get the emails letting me know there is a reply to the thread so please give me a couple days to respond here :)

Thanks!!

Ha Violin......

Days of talking tone with Gainfreak and Fast Eddie Degenaro during my n00b days of trying to figure out what was what I was exposed to the term "violin" like. Boogies driven hard were the platform we were discussing but at NAMM we ran across the Fuchs booth and some cat was playing over some backing track and looked at Ralph and the lesson was closed :thumbsup: I understood violin :lol: :LOL:

I knew that amp was running 6L6s and I am very impressed that you have moved to another area of voicing and circuit build Trace to add to your catalog.

Great story! :) Was that the same year we ran into one another as we were walking into NAMM in the morning? I remember everyone being there that year.

Thank you my friend and I really appreciate the kind words. I have always been a fan of all kinds of tones and while we are more known for high gain tones (IE: let your customers guide your products) I am also a big fan of vintage style tones. For me, this is an extension of that passion that I hope also resonates with other players. Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback, I greatly appreciate it.

Have a great holiday weekend!

I loved it but thats nothing new, Youre stuff kicks major ass Trace. I might be speaking out of my ass here but after playing that Dual Channel V-rock( which is one of the finest all around rock amps that Ive ever had the pleasure of playing) Im pretty confident that I could get the same tones showcased on the OSD out of the V-rock without any major hassles...

Hope all is well with you and yours Bro!!!

Sure was, NAMM 2007 :thumbsup:

I MAY make it this coming year if certain things come into play :yes:
