this may be a dumb question:
the clean boost on a sparkle drive, it should be transparent and similar to any other brand, like the fulltone ocd used as a clean boost with no gain
right?
I mean, if all I want is a clean boost, any brand should be able to accomplish the same thing?
(I want my amp tone un-affected)

Reason I ask is cause I had to sell my ocd a while a back to pay bills  I used the ocd as a clean boost only
and I have a friend who will sell me his sparkle drive for a great deal less than eventually getting the ocd back

They all affect an amp's tone in some way. TS types add a mid hump and suck out some low end for example. It all depends on what sound you're looking for.
Personally I like the Lovepedal Eternity the best of any boost/od I've played. Man, I'm beginning to sound like I work for Lovepedal! I love their pedals!

The Sparkle Drive is a solid clean boost, but adds a little flavor to the mix. It's not an entirely flat EQ. Very good pedal though. If you can get it for a good deal you should anyway.

with the sparkle drive did you guys notice extra compression / dynamics lost ? everything i have tried has done this and i dont like it.

the sparkle drive set to full clean boost has a scooped response to complement the mid hump when blended with the TS circuit.

Hoyt,
My favorite CLEAN boost with the Peacemaker is the BBE Boosta Grande. I've got a couple of them down at the shop here for $49. I tried the Sparkle Drive with the PM but really didn't dig it.

cool
borrowing the sparkle drive for a while, but will most likely want to try the BBE
when I'm ready to buy, I'll come by Squid Music to get it
thanks
