Started a post about a bass and then remembered I just don't care enough about bass to post haha

So in it's place. I will ask if anyone uses VST gear for recording and what rigs are you using for plugins. I have had a ton of success with VST gear, mostly freeware, in fact I prefer my VST tones to anything I have created with the axefx ultra over the past few months.

The faceless did their entire last album with VSTs. Lots of bands are starting to use vsts more. For me the Lepou plugs with Lecab and redwirez cabs turn out a terrific sounding tone for heavier stuff. I haven't messed with them much by way of rock tones but I am sure they are attainable. Nick Crow and Ignite make some great free ware amps as well.

I found the X50 hard to focus but it's got a ton of balls forsure.

Try the Lepou Le345 I think it's called. Use that on the red channel with the TSE808 copy then with Lecab and toss in a Framus / Catharsis cab combo and you are going to hear a mountain of tone. I decided not to even use my Ultra for recording because the VST tones are just better. The Nick Crow 5150 and 6505 sims are amazing and also free as well.
