W/D/W using studio monitors for Wet

Anybody tried this? I'm running a Mark IIC+ with a Boogie 4X12 and a TC G-System for effects. Rig is sounding good but I'm curious about going the W/D/W route.
I was thinking of using my Alesis M1 monitors as stereo wet only speakers and keeping the 4X12 dry. Obviously wouldnt work at very loud volumes but just for messing around, wondering if anybody else has tried this.

My first guess is that the monitors will be too full-range, like plugging into PA speakers, but the Mesa has a post-OT slave out so that might help somewhat. If I have some time this weekend I'm gonna try it and report back.
 
If fx only, I have used stage monitors (wedges) this way with no issues.
 
Grab a PALMER PDI09 and use that to feed back to the gsystem insert and you will be golden..
