Per specs the Iron Man looks like a big jump in output from the Godwood. I'm unsure if the Godwood is enough output and the Iron Man almost looks like too much. I've also never played an A8 pickup. This is for a LP Std. Any help appreciated.

I’ve never played either, but I have played the Icebucker. Per Jim, the Godwood is in the same ballpark as the IB only a little hotter and fatter. I’ve had it in 3 different guitars and didn’t find it under gained, though in one it was borderline. Based on my experience with the IB and Jim’s comparison, I imagine the Godwood should be fine depending on what you want. I will say, though, that with pickups in that output range having enough ummph will greatly depend on the guitar.

The Godwood should likely have enough output, but the Iron Man will be way hotter. The Iron Man actually comes with a ceramic 8 by default but can be ordered with an Alnico 8 or 5 instead. The Iron Man will be a lot tighter, more compressed, more growl/roar, heavier sounding and darker yet also more high end sizzle with the ceramic. It’s my personal favorite Wagner bridge pickup and the Darkburst is my favorite neck pickup of his, although the Godwood neck is almost the same exact neck pickup

The Darkburst bridge is also my second favorite bridge pickup and I prefer it to either the Godwood, Ice Bucker or Fillmore if you want something lower output than the Iron Man. Something about it’s midrangs is more pleasing to me than those ones and I think it also has more nuance to its tone

Wagner’s are great and were my favorites for a while and for their price probably still would be my favorites
