Wah potentiometers? 100k vs 200k?

So I have to replace the pot in my wah. If I got a 200k instead of a 100k pot, will it decrease volume, highs, etc, or increase something? Thanks!

going higher than 100k--assuming it's the common Crybaby/Vox/etc type circuit and not something out-there--will make it brighter.

the Hendrix Crybabys use a 470k pot. i've read that he liked that extra high-end to compensate for the treble tone-suck that his pedals had [way before true bypass]. no idea if it's true.

470k was noticeably brighter in my customized Crybabys. 200k i bet would be some brighter but not a ton.

Thanks. I actually want brighter as my darkish sounding amp tends to wash out the sound of the wah when I have a bunch of gain going on.

I was actually going to start a similar thread. I have a mid-90's US made Vox wah...what pot do I need to be looking at to replace the original one (dirty/scratchy...beyond the help of cleaner)?

While doing my research, I saw that some really old Vox's use 200k pots, but yours isn't all that old. Does the pot not have a value printed on it somewhere? My old one (the one I'm repairing) didn't, but my newer 95Q wah did.

No, nothing on there that I can see. I did swap out to a Hot Potz back in the late 90's but put the stock one back in as I liked it better...wish I knew what it was!

Yeah I'm bummed about mine being broken. The wah wasn't working, so I cleaned up a bunch of stuff, checked solder joints, etc. I fixed the issued it had, but in messing with it a little too much I friggin' broke one of the tabs off of the pot, and I canna not fixed it.
