My nephew had a box of 45 sitting, primers up. A hot piece of brass ejected bounced off the wall, and hit a primer of a fresh round in that box, detonated it. Frags hit him in the arm. Luckily flesh wounds.

The range updated their policy after that.

Yup, I followed the story. I think they got on his tail after his partner was murdered. They obviously spent some time digging into him, and all they could do is pop him for weed ?‍

The range I go to has has a "no rounds on the bench" rule for this very reason, anything can happen in an enclosed space.
