I just ordered a pair of these to mix up with the GT75's in my 4x12. Anyone have any experience with them ? How do they compare to Greenback reissue ?

way fucking awesome!

hope you got the pre-rola dope?

Opted for no dope this time. I had a pair of Weber 1265 clones that I had doped and they seemed kind of stiff.

the Stan Specs are awesome, and far as i know they're just 1225's with the pre-rola dope?

think he added the pre-rola dope option after the Stan-Specs became popular, but don't know for sure?

i ordered mine on the custom my tone or whatever it's called.

anyways, they are way awesome. like probably better than English greenbacks.

your 75's will probably be a little louder, but might be pretty cool.

but yea, all in all the 1225's are more greenback like than the Chinese greenbacks. however the chinese greenbacks do match up pretty good with the 75's.

edit; the RI Chinese greenbacks are really stiff when new, they take forever to break in.

Thanks for the info

The Retro 30's (V30 clones) are overpowering my 75's right now. Sounded good with my JVM, but my new VHT has a touch of "grit" in the mids that the Retro 30's just accentuate. I wouldn't mind if the 75's dominate at all...............since the VHT sounds really good with them. But I wanted a low sensitivity speaker to fill out the mids some.

I really love the Weber Ceramic 1225's w/pre-rola doping. Best speaker that I have ever heard/played to date!

You should just go ahead and buy 4 and be done with it  . IMHO, they sound far better than the T75's V30, Heritage, ETC.....

I have 2 of Weber's version of an H30. It's one of my favorite speakers i have used.

Great to hear....Ted Weber makes a truly exceptional speaker! I could not believe my ears once I installed my 1225's into my Bogner cab....

Anyone compared them to scumback speakers (which Weber builds custom for Scumback)?

idea:

get another Marshall 4x12 with four 1225's
then
put all G12Y75's in the other one.

I have. They sound very similar. The one thing I did notice was that the Webers were a little bit brighter (but not in a harsh way) than the Scumbacks. That may be because the Scumbacks have a little more bass response due to the 35 oz mags they use compared to the 30 oz mags in the Webers? Which reminds me, I remember someone posting that they were ordering the 1225's but with 40 oz ceramic mags instead of the standard 30 oz. Never saw a follow up though on how he like them or what they sounded like.
