Hey Guys:
Frequent lurker, but decided to join.
So, I saw apost from about 2 weeks a few of you guys asking about Weber now having Hemp as an option. I decided to try one out. I'm usually a Silver Bell guy. My favorite speaker for Marshall-type circuits. But thought, if anyone can get the recipe right, Weber probably can.
I had a CV123 (Cerwin-Vega ER123 clone) that just didn't work for me. So I just RMA'd it back to Weber for a Hemp-coned 100wt Blue Dog. It'll be a couple of weeks before it's in-bound, but I'll tell you what I experience with it.
I've had a couple of those V30's that ABrown (Tone Tubby)recone with Hemp.
Pretty cool, but they pushed so much low mid, it was silly. I use a Rane parametric in my loop and I had to EQ out a ton between say, 400-600 Hz. I loved the top end though. What I'm hoping is that the Weber will have a little more even response.
I'll post my results.
Cheers,
Noel
