I e-mailed Ted about his break in process. I am not sure most people know this, but Weber will break in your speakers upon request. There is no charge. From the limited information I got it sounds like they run pink noise through the speaker and also chemically treat the cone.

I know Ted knows what he is doing with speakers, but I am a bit warry of the Chemically treated cone.

I am going to order a couple of speakers for my Fender Super soon and was not sure about getting them broken in or not....

I have a pair of Weber 1225's for sale ($95 plus shipping) if by chance those are the ones you are looking at. I have ordered a bunch of speakers from Ted in the past and always have him break them in. No problems with any of them yet.

Sorry for the hijack, wow dude if somebody is looking for some killer speakers, these 1225's rock. Amazing price too.

As far as break in, I just use my own variac and do it myself. Ask Ted if he could just do the variac/white noise thing and not the chemical treatment if that would make you feel more comfortable. Otherwise, Ted knows what he is doing and I'd trust his break in process any day.

I wish I had a cab to put those in. I am looking for 2 10" speakers a 10A125 and a 10A150 for my Fender Brown super.

I have had 4 speakers total from Weber, still have 3. None of them were broken in. The 12F150 I have just seemed to take longer than I wanted to break it in naturally.
