So just got done hooking up a Delisle amp switcher for my “wall” and something weird is happening with my Tremoverb head. When I switch away from it, it develops a sound that sounds like you have a gas generator running outside. It comes from the head shell, not through the speaker. What’s stranger is, it only happens on the Red Channel in the blues setting. Switch back to the amp and it performs normally. I changed its position on the Delisle and it still happened. Wasn’t sure if it was a load issue in the Delisle. I’m totally stumped.

Be on the lookout for the super simple stuff. Not sure if you saw my post about my 5150-III effects loop problems but all of the time I was thinking it was the amp, cables, tubes, etc, etc. It was one of my cables running under the power supply for my pedals. Drove me nuts.

Go to the basics and think about what you have changed in your setup prior to that sound, etc. To me that sounds like some type of interference from another device or a power source.

But it only happens on the blues setting and when I switch away from the amp in the switcher, it’s just running into a dummy load, with no input on the front end. When the amp is selected on the switcher, no noise (apart from normal) and plays normally. I figured if it didn’t like the dummy load it would affect the amp globally but it doesn’t.

Sounds like mechanical noise, like the transformer buzzing ? Is it loose from the chassis ? Is there a problem with the load in your switcher ? Grasping at straws, that’s all I can think of. I had an ADA Pitchtraq pitch transposer years ago that had a buzz from the transformer being loose on the chassis whenever I turned it on.
