I no longer wish to use the FX loop on my amp if I can avoid it. I find my amps ALL sound better with the FX loop switch OUT.

However, I still want my delays and, sometimes, a little reverb. I'm considering using my AXE FX II for effects. Not opposed to other rack mounted FX. PLEASE feel free to advise on these too!

I would like a wet/dry rig with the option of wet/dry/wet.

I am using my BE 100 amp which has a LINE OUT. So where doI go from there. I would very much appreciate advice on power amps (I'm interested in the Matrix 1000) e.g., does it really matter which one to get??

Also I dont really want to haul around a ton of gear, so no refrigerator racks or a whole other set of 4X12 cabs.

And does it matter what cabs/speakers I use just for the wet signal? Like can I get an inexpensive 2x12 cab for the wet signal???

Again, any help with this would be very much appreciated. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on gear you dig, dont dig, etc etc. Thanks so much

I would give a look to the Fryette Power Station for your wet/dry rig and pair it up with a good 212 cab (Fryette makes one of those too).
DISCLAIMER: I haven't tried this but it's on my todo list for the year.

You'd run out from your head as normal to your 412 and also into the Power Station. Then from the power station into the 212. The power station has it's own effects loop so connect all your time based effects to that, set the levels and you're good to go.
The only thing to keep in mind is setting the impedance on your amp correctly. Set it like you're using two cabs. In this example let's say two 16 ohm cabs, so you'd use the 8 ohm out setting on your amp.

I'm looking to do this with my Mark V:25 when it arrives. I think I may get a Suhr Iso box, run that to my effects and then to a little Electro Harmonix 22 Caliber pedal amp that will power my wet cab. If I really want stereo, I'll just get another 22 Caliber. I can't believe these things aren't more popular. You can fit them right on your pedalboard.

Power amps makes a huge difference, especially if you plan to use your w/d or w/d/w in the typical EVH and Steve Stevens fashion, which means plenty dry in the wet cabs, esentially d/d or d/d/d when your effects are off. I use a Matrix GT1000FX for this and couldn't be happier.

If you do wet only , something small like the EHX's probably work fine, you don't need a lot of power for that application.

 Yes.
Stereo rig is fun too. That's what I do a lot of the time. Two 1x12's or two 2x12's. Sounds huge.

I tried w/d/w for a while, but I'm glad I went back to wet/dry.

I'm using Rocktron Intellifex XL powered by Rocktron Velocity 300 1U power amp for wet signal. Through Bogner 2x12 cabs. Couldn't be happier. I've considered Matrix, but had the possibility to try out Velocity 300 before buying one and opted for Rocktron. I really don't feel the need for better power amp. I can even tweak hi and lo end on Velocity, to match the sound of my dry 4x12 Bogner cab.

The dry sound coming out of 2x12s isn't exactly the same as dry sound of 4x12 (with Cameron CCV for example), but it gets pretty damn close. And all together it sound HUGE. And with 2U rack case, it was a 400$ investment. Minus the cabs though...

I've run stereo and wet/dry, and I prefer the wet/dry myself. Running an Eventide Timefactor in the efx loop of one amp, the other amp dry.
