Wet/Dry/Wet live questions: how do you mic it up...
Two questions do you have the sound guy pan left and right?

Also...say you play somewhere and they can only mic one cab.... SHould you mic the dry?

Yes, and Yes. Pan Left/Right and dry in the middle.

Mic the dry if you only have one mic. Typically, the dry cab is louder in the FOH mix anyway - the effects are there to add a little fairy dust.

EVH pans left, right, and has 2 dry signals (one from the center mic, and one from his Palmer PDI03. Those are generally in the middle of the mix.

So I assume if only Wet/dry
You could go wet left and dry right or Center.... thru the PA....

Correct, but there really aren't any hard and fast rules. Whatever the soundman thinks sounds best with the rest of the band. You could have your dry just a hair to the right of center and your wet hard right -- then if you had a second guitarist, there would be space on the left hand side to mix his tone.

As stated, there really are no hard and fast rules. It depends a lot on how things are configured as well. Ex. I have my stuff setup so that I can have my dry signal in my wet cabs (Foot switchable)

I typically have the wet panned at 10 and 2 o'clock, and the dry up the middle. (3) mics.
