Hey everyone. Looking for some suggestions. Have a diezel vh4 head and just got matrix power amp and suhr iso line out. Routing strymon pedals from line out to power amp. Power amp signal lights do not light unless playing at pretty loud volumes on Diezel. What is best way to make sure power amp gets adequate signal regardless of volume. Thoughts around a volume pedal in amp effects loop to adjust as needed Open to any suggestion to do best way...short of replacing my amp or buying additional amps, I'm willing to get right tools for job. More than anything don't want to sacrifice or alter original amp sound. Thanks

So do you have 3 cabinets for w/d/w? Not sure about pedals to power amp..I go from speaker out from EVH head to suhr iso into a power amp out to 2 cabs--the other speaker out from EVH goes to single cabinet..My Suhr iso is set around 5 and the power amp is set about on 5 and I adjust the EVH to about 4--Not sure if this helps you but just experiment with it and you will find the right solution..

You´re not really supposed to control the level going to the Matrix by cranking the Diezel, you should be cranking the send from the Suhr Iso. But if you end up overloading the Strymons that way you can back it off a bit and just jack up the output on the last pedal in the chain.

With that said, on these power amps I think the indicator lights show the output level and the volume controls control the input level. So what comes into the Matrix isn´t really shown all that well by the lights.

I have a Matrix i use W/D/W. Like said above, control the volume with the output signal from your FX device. The volume control on the matrix really is signal attenuation. Full clockwise means no attenuation. Anything less is attenuating the signal.... thus less likely the indicator light won’t be lit. That being said, if it sounds good, I don’t worry about whether the light goes on or not.
